Where is your energy going?

What are you doing with your energy?  Is it flowing? Or is it getting stuck in various places?

Think of a time when you cleaned off your entire desk and dusted it and got rid of old pieces of paper taking up space. Actually, these excess pieces of paper take up space on your desk and in your mind, through your thoughts.

After you cleaned off your desk last time, do you remember how good it felt to see that desk so clean? That feeling was your energy flowing. Did you notice how your desk looked all crisp and clean? That’s your desk exhibiting flowing energy. The same goes for other physical spaces in your life, i.e., closets, purses, workbenches.

Now think about an area of your life where the energy is not flowing so freely. I spend a lot of time traveling in my car to my client appointments. When my car is dirty, either inside or outside, it starts to bug me (pun intended). I hear a little voice saying, “Ick! I’ve got to wash my car soon.” Each day I don’t wash my car, the “ick” feeling gets stronger. And my energy in this area of my life is now stuck. I know I will feel better when my car is clean. That little voice (thought), which becomes a negative feeling, is taking up some valuable space in my mind. And my mind is where my thoughts are. So, cleaning my car can actually clean up my thoughts.

Everything you see in your life first began as a thought. Then, based on a thought, you got a certain feeling, which inspired you to take a certain action. Now, you can gaze around you and see the results of your thoughts, feelings and actions. Make sense?

Take a good look at the different areas of your life. Where is energy flowing? Where is energy stuck? You can make one small change each day in an effort to clean up your thoughts and it will clean up your energy. Start small. Let’s go back to that desk. Each time you get up from your desk, you can take one piece of paper with you to either file or throw away. These small changes can make a big difference by the end of the week. And then you can stand back with that great feeling of having that clean desk before you leave on summer holiday! Energy is flowing!

Energy flows where attention goes!
